Our 60+ Year History

In 1953, brothers Hank and John Katerberg founded the company as a modest peat farm.  With hard work, quality products, exceptional service, and high ethical standards the company grew, branching into commercial and residential landscape services with ten staff members.  Hank’s son Norm and his friend Tom VerHage purchased the company in 1971 and developed a team of skilled professionals in landscape design/build, site work, maintenance, and horticulture. Today, Katerberg VerHage Inc. employs over 60 full time workers and has become one of the most highly respected full service landscape and site work firms known throughout Michigan.

It is built on long standing relationships with clients spanning decades and spawning numerous referrals, project expansions, and second generation projects.
